vgaset: a quick and dirty program to help setup X11 screen geometry. INSTALLATION: With SLS: sysinstall -install vgaset.tpz Without SLS: gunzip -c < vgaset.tpz | (cd /;tar xpf -) vgaset will be installed in: /usr/src/vgaset --> source code /usr/X386/bin --> executable /usr/man/cat6. --> manual page DESCRIPTION: vgaset runs in an xterm and displays the current screen geometry in a form similar to that used in a mode line in Xconfig. With single-key commands, the geometry can be modified in real time, thus enabling quick feedback for setting up optimal values for the hardware in use. The program has only been tested on a Diamond SpeedStar with an ET4000 chip under BSD/386 and a local bus ATI Graphics Ultra Pro card with xfree1.2 under Linux. Possibly significant mods will be needed to get it to work in a different environment.
