Abuse Linux beta notes : see abuse.doc for info on command-line options. These docs are very rough, so please try to tollerate the mispellings, and blatant lies, we haven't even read them yet. If you lock up during saving, gamma correction, or other file stuff do a 'umask 111'. Also for SVGA version if you get a message about not being able to open /dev/console do a 'chmod /dev/console 666' You need to run root for SVGA version. You might need to run root for X11 if you play sound, I haven't checked this out. Also for X11, make sure you turn of 3 mouse button emulation or you will have a real hard time firing as X will not tell abuse you clicked until it is sure you don't mean to press both. If you clicking outside of the window a problem, use the -grab_pointer command line option which restrain the pointer to the window, but will not aloow you to do anything else useful. **Be careful of this option, if the game locks for some reason your only option is CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE. Though this game does run hi-rez, you are REALLY spoiling the game-play by doing so because you can see more than you are supposed to. To get the most fun out of the game, I suggest you BEAT IT first at 320x200 and the play hi-rez (cheating). Hi-rez was designed for level editing, not playing though no one will listen to me and play it hi-rez anyway :) X players on pentiums can use "-2 -size 640 400" to double pixels and see 320x200 blown up. I you find a bug, please, please let us know. email to abuse-bugs@crack.com. Please finger this address first to make sure you have the current version. If it at all possible try to reproduce it and tell us EXACTLY how you did it, which level you were playing and what you were doing. If you are available to talk, please leave your phone number and time of day you can be reached. I wanted to get this out before the DOS version so linux user would have something to taunt other OS's with for a while. We are currently taking email orders (finger abuse@crack.com). Have fun, JC
