This file describes enhancements & fixes in the version 2.10 of Equation Magic, released on December 16, 1998. 1. EqM 2.10 now automatically does the vertical positioning of the equation within MS Word 97. This greatly simplifies the use of the program. 2. EqM 2.10 allows one to define the colors for the equation and the background. 3. Improved support for PowerPoint (previous version worked incorrectly with some versions of PowerPoint) 4. Added option : [Beep On Error]. Previous version produced (sometimes massive) beeps when the TeX equation became temporary invalid. Now, beeping can be turned off. 5. Old WordPad support. EqM worked incorrectly with WordPad supplied with the _original_ Windows 95. [Talking about all OLE clients being the same...] 6. MFC statically linked. This decreased the size of the distribution; also it fixed the problems on the computers that had some versions of MicroSoft Visual C installed. [MicroSoft, in its infinite wisdom, released several _different_ versions of MFC42.DLL; EqM 2.00 would not work on the computers that had other version(s) of the DLL installed.] 7. Selectable Toolbar size. v2.14 additions/corrections \eqalignno will not any longer work in ordinary math mode. \eqalignno will not any longer draw (unneeded) vertical line. Background color selection added. \frac supported. An installation glitch that sometimes showed up under NT is corrected. v2.22 additions/corrections (4/10/00) Compatibility issues with Office2000 on NT SP4/5 resolved Compatibility issues with Corel9 resolved Large number of misc. bug fixes & corrections v2.30 changes: Support for other MicroPress' font families added. [hvmath, tmmath] Please see http://www.micropress-inc.com/fonts for additional information on MicroPress' font sets; see http://www.micropress-inc.com/eqmfsets.htm for the details/examples. Resource leak in some versions of MS Word plugged. Workarounds for several other bugs which plague MicroSoft office programs. v2.31 changes: MS Word 97 on German-only Win32 systems blocked access to the '\' character (needed to enter TeX text) -- a transparent workaround added. A demo PPT file added (ppsample.zip); this file shows a sample EqMagic based presentation which uses the new fontsets. [you need to have PowerPoint installed to view it.]
